ISA SMALL BOAT SAILING CERTIFICATES |

Sailing dinghies, keelboats & catamaransISA Start Sailing Level 1 2 DAYS Provides a brief taste of sailing for beginners. A short introduction to the sport of sailing, including basic boat handling techniques and essential background knowledge. It is recommended that all participants consolidate this short introduction with the Basic Skills course (Level 2). ISA Basic Skills Level 2 2 DAYS Some experience or the Level 1 is required before taking this course. By the end of this course the successful sailor will be safety conscious, have a basic knowledge of sailing and be capable of sailing without an instructor in light winds. In the majority of cases beginners would do this course and the Start Sailing (Level 1) above as one five day course. ISA Learn to Sail Level 1 & 2 RUN OVER 5 DAYS Start Sailing and Basic Skills brought together into a 5 day course, by the end of which you should be able to sail with an instructor in light winds. Most newcomers to sailing will take this complete course, providing the skills to sail solo or with friends.Improvers Clinic RUN OVER 5 DAYS Provides a fun stepping stone for the Level 2 sailor to fine tune and advance their sailing skills in preperation for Level 3 (this is a non certified course). ISA Improving Techniques Level 3 On completion of this course you will have a competent, safe, practical approach to the sailing of small boats and will be capable of sailing and assuming seamanlike decisions in moderate conditions. Students starting this course will need to be of Level 2 ability and would normally have a seasons sailing between courses. ISA Advanced Sailing Skills Level 4 (was Level 5) For the advanced sailor. A high level course required before becoming an ISA instructor and a fun course to learn how to control your dinghy in all conditions. ISA Advanced Racing Skills For the the advanced sailor that wants to improve the racing skills and become more competitive. Also required if you want to become a Level 2 Coach. YOUTH CERTIFICATES The ISA Level system does not really cater for children & youths. So we have introduced our own Stage certificates - 1, 2 & 3. This gives our young sailors a chance to a chieve a certificate on their first visit to the centre and tives them the goal of a higher certificate to aim for next time.
