Teaching Through Fun

West Cork Sailing & Powerboat Centre offer top quality sail & powerboat training and team challenges with a large fleet of boats, modern purpose built facilities and friendly professional instructors. Your group has a choice of brilliant activities on & off the water:

A

ISA Sail Training with a variety of boats to suit age and ability.  Aiming for ISA Certificates.
A great opportunity for youths to achieve a qualification and discover the thrill of sailing.
B Multi Watersports, fun sailing, kayaking, rafts, swimming, powerboating.
A chance to try a variety of watersports and have some fun on the water.
C Nautical Skills Training
Learning a variety of nautical skills, including ISA Certified Sailing and basic navigation, meteorology, water safety, boat maintenance

Or, we can design a programme tailored to your groups needs

In addition to the sailing and watersports, we have a few fun educational additional options -

  • Marine Biology - a marine biologist joins the students, exploring and explaining the marine life of the harbour.
  • Local Archeology & Geography - a qualified Tour Guide gives a walking treasure trail tour at the base of the mountain & past peat bog, seeing an Ogham Stone, Standing Stone and other ancient sites.

  • All sailing tuition is with a qualified ISA Instructor and on a safe teaching ratio of 1 instructor to 6 students.
  • All wetsuits, booties & bouyancy aids, as well as spray tops & helmets where necessary, are supplied.
  • All ISA safety requirements are supplied & serviced.
  • All land based activities are on a safe teaching ratio of 1 instructor to 10 students.
