Youth Fleets- Children & Teenagers Fleets - Ages 4 to 18

Your group
Children a grouped based on age and ability.  If you have no experience it is based on age as below, if you are coming to improve your skills you will put in a group based on sailing ability.  Children can change fleet as the week progresses if we think they will benefit from being with a different group.

Here are different levels and groups, ages ranges may vary in groups -

Nemos - Ages 4-5.  A wonderful week of mainly shorebased fun.   Sailing, kayaking, floating, towing, treasure hunts, crab hunting, colouring and that all important afternoon storytime or video at about 3.30, for when they need a nap and refuse to have one!   Find out more.

Guppies Fun Sailing Ages 6-8.  Offers a gentle introduction to the water and the world of sailing with balance boards, optibats, kayaks, fun & games.

Beginners Ages 9-16.  Discovering the thrill and fun of sailing and gaining a certificate of achievement.  We start you gently while you get used to the water and teach you to sail you own dinghy confidently.

Improvers Ages 9-17.  Improve your sailing skills and enjoy sailing on the water with other improvers.  You need to be of Level 2 standard or higher.  Aim for your ISA Level 3 with our stepping stone Improver Certs.

Advanced Sailing Skills and Advanced Racing Skills see Adult Sailing.
Young sailors of this level would join the adults in some serious sailing, learning complete control of your boat in all conditions - even blindfold!!
